Rest Well Proud Baldy

In recent days we lost one of our local bald eagles.

He was senselessly shot, and severely wounded, by some sorry excuse for a human being (whom I hope that catch and prosecute vigorously). Eventually he had to be euthanized due to his catastrophic injuries, despite a heroic effort to save him (thank you Dr. Rose at Greywolf Veterinary Hospital, and Jaye at the Raptor Center).

Highly likely, with as often as I am out photographing them, that that eagle has been the subject of some of my photos. Sadly, there’s no way to know.

I offer this photo in his honor.

  1. I could just cry….I’m so sorry to hear Rich..I just cant even imagine…why?? hurts my heart and it must just have broken yours, they are all such your friends by now I’m sure ❀

    1. You’re right, I do consider them my friends Maureen. Saw two of them today, and it made me sad to think there is one that I will never see again 😦
